He announced on X his intention to sell part of his BTC holdings to invest in gold, believing the metal will outperform Bitcoin. Recently, both assets faced declines, with Bitcoin dropping 20% in June, its worst month in four years, while gold fell 11.7%. Since the start of 2026, BTC has decreased by 28% compared to gold’s 3.9% drop. Brandt’s perspective challenges the prevailing bullish sentiment around Bitcoin, which anticipates a shift back to cryptocurrencies.
